My Spring 2019 Capsule

So we've been talking about capsule wardrobes and traveling light, so why not get into what my Spring Capsule Wardrobe looks like?

Some of these aren't the exact items I have - when there is a * next to the item, that means it's the exact one. I've put the name down so you can look them up if you're interested in the pieces!

If you are struggling with creating your own, hopefully this helps!

SPRING CAPSULE WARDROBE ITEMS (41 Pieces):

  • 11 Tops
  • 5 Pants
  • 2 Dresses/Jumpsuits
  • 10 Sweaters/Jackets
  • 4 Accessories
  • 9 Shoes

For tops, I put in a lot of layering and cozy pieces because it's been raining like crazy in New England all Spring. It's also been the lowest high temperature on record and stuck in the 40's and 50's, so layering is paramount.

*Notes: The Salem Tee was custom made for me by my friend Amelia at Merch.Merch.Merch Club and I wanted you to see the detail. The Zadig & Voltaire sweater is super thin and I wear it as a long sleeve shirt.

I'm getting super into this high waist denim trend and mom jeans! I love me some skinny jeans, but I have very large hips, and the high waist and looser legs feels so much more comfortable!

*Notes: The infamous Levi's Wedgie Jean is named that for a reason!

I really only wear dresses in the Summer (and they're all black), but I figured I'd throw one into this Capsule in case there's a freak warm day. The jumpsuit is super comfortable and it's in here so I don't have to wear denim during that time of the month. No one wants to be shoved into jeans at that point.

I looooove sweaters, hoodies, jackets, blazers, you name it. Outerwear is my jam all the way. Limiting to 10 pieces was the hardest part of making my capsule (and my shoes).

A gold belt, a silver belt, a dark bag and light bag. All my bases are covered.

Isn't Spring your last chance to wear suede before it gets too hot? Well New England slaps me in the face and says "No! I'm going to rain every day so you can't wear your suede!" 3/9 pairs of my capsule shoes are suede and I've gotten to wear one pair for half a day because of the weather. Next year (if I continue capsule wardrobes) I will probably switch my suede shoes for Autumn and my regular leather for Spring. So if you live in a place with seasons, let this be your warning!

So what do you think? Any advice? Any comments? Let me know! And I'd love to see your capsule as well!

Until next time...

All my best,

Alexx
